Pearl Park News:

Precious Gems Preschool  - In this preschool program, children will learn and grow through art, music, creative play and outdoor exploration with nature at the heart of the program. The curriculum will focus on seasonal themes that connect students to the natural world as well as promote kindergarten readiness, discovery and hands-on learning. Class will take place in our designated preschool classroom as well as throughout our beautiful park surroundings. We will spend time indoors and outdoors in all seasons and will have a balance of structured and unstructured play. Through this play, children will learn to solve problems and work together successfully, while exploring the wonders of nature. Our approach to teaching keeps children enthusiastic about learning and the focus on fun! For more info or questions, email pearl@minneapolisparks.org.

Young Rembrandts - The MPRB is partnering with Young Rembrandts to offer a variety of art-based programs this fall at rec centers throughout the city. We are excited to be offering 3 classes at Pearl Park, including an MEA break program.

Yoga for Core and Pelvic Floor - In this class we will explore the foundational moves of the Restore Your Core® movement method. Through a mind-body lens, we will explore strength and mobility of the joints, core engagement, and how the breath contributes to healing. Students will learn new ways to bring more balance, strength, and mobility into the body, with the goal of reducing or eliminating core and pelvic floor injuries and dysfunction. Registration options include 4-5 sessions or single day passes. Sundays from 4:30-5:45pm beginning September 22nd

PIRC has a limited amount of protective equipment available to players on an as-needed basis.  Equipment is available to encourage playing hockey but receiving equipment is not guaranteed with a player's registration.  We will hold an equipment checkout event in November.

We have only a few pieces of technical equipment, please contact us ahead of time if you have technical equipment needs

Hockey Practice Information:

Locations include Parade and Northeast Arenas and Pearl and McRae Parks.  Anticipate 2-3 total team commitments per week including games and practices.
  •  While the Squirt - 18U program teaches skating, it is not a "learn to skate" program. Players should be able to skate the length of a rink without falling down

Winter 2025 Registration notes

  • Birth date verification is required for all players in 11U and older leagues.
  • Kids with summer birthdays (June 1-August 31) who did not start kindergarten until they were six years are allowed to play with their current grade. Register for the age division offered, then contact us to inquire about switching age divisions.
  • Registration refunds will be less a $5 processing fee if cancelled before the first game. Occasionally, due to low participation or coaching numbers, we may have to cancel a team. In such case, players will receive a full refund and Pearl Park will assist players in finding other parks with availability.
